Paul, maybe for down the road a piece…..Maybe you already showed it. It is similar to the Fungi one but focuses on trees. The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter WohllebenI got it from the library.Barb
Chris, and everyone else possibly interested in this series: This series does look interesting and worthwhile. However, do note that this is a series and there are currently two seasons, each with 8 episodes. So, it is probably impractical to share all the episodes of "The Chosen" as that would occupy us for 4 months! We could show one or two episodes to gauge interest, and let people then watch further episodes on their own.
Do read the glowing review of the series at the American Magazine (The Jesuit Review) that Chris provided. You can watch the series online via the series website, https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen. This website says:
COME AND SEE WHAT THEY SAW.
WELCOME TO THE FIRST-EVER MULTI-SEASON SERIES ABOUT THE LIFE OF CHRIST. THE FREE SHOW TENS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WON’T STOP TALKING ABOUT.
A CHARISMATIC FISHERMAN DROWNING IN DEBT. A TROUBLED WOMAN WRESTLING WITH REAL DEMONS. A GIFTED PUBLICAN OSTRACIZED BY HIS FAMILY AND HIS PEOPLE. A RELIGIOUS LEADER STRUGGLING WITH HIS BELIEFS. SEE JESUS THROUGH THE EYES OF THOSE THAT MET HIM.
You can also watch the series through an app available for smart phones and tablets. It is also interesting to note that this is a "crowd-funded media project"; indeed they claim it is the "#1 highest crowd-funded media project of all time." Two seasons have been created thus far and fundraising is underway to meet their plans for 5 additional seasons.
Again, let me know if you would like episodes of this series shown on coming Wednesday evenings. I have not planned anything for this Wednesday (tomorrow, July 14), and I'll be out of town the following Wednesday (July 21).
